The Battle of Saratoga, which consisted of two significant battles in September and October 1777, was won by the American forces. The first battle took place on September 19, 1777, and ended in a tactical victory for the British, but the second battle on October 7 resulted in a decisive American victory. This pivotal win is often credited with turning the tide of the Revolutionary War in favor of the Americans and helped secure French support for the American cause.
The battle at Lexington/concord because it was the first big American win. It proved to France that we deserved their supplies and aid; they gave us aid after they knew our victory. The Battle of Yorktown is important because that was the war in which we won our freedom.
The British defeat at the Battle of Saratoga showed them that it could be won. Anything that weakened the English gave new hope to the French that the UK could be defeated in Europe.

The combined battles were each about a day long, but separated by 18 days. The battle of Saratoga was actually two separate battles, on September 19 and on October 7, 1777. In the Battle of Freeman's Farm (Sept. 19), British General Thomas Burgoyne pushed back the forces under Horatio Gates. However, a similar attempt failed 18 days later at the Battle of Bemis Heights, and Burgoyne's army was surrounded by the American forces at Saratoga. On October 17, he surrendered.
it was the first war the Americans ever won
