In "A View from the Bridge," Marco wants revenge because he believes that Eddie Carbone, the protagonist, betrayed and caused harm to his brother, Rodolpho. Onesimus did not seek revenge against Archippus in Ephesus. In fact, Onesimus was a runaway slave who encountered the Apostle Paul while in prison and ultimately became a Christian. Instead of revenge, the narrative focuses on reconciliation, as Paul sends Onesimus back to his master, Philemon, encouraging him to accept Onesimus as a brother in Christ rather than as a slave. The emphasis is on forgiveness and restoration rather than vengeance.

The Holocaust happened because of the appeasement. Germany was desperate to get a government that would seek out the rights of the people and revenge, so they would of let anyone with those values in. Appeasement was a British thing that was brought to be because Britain thought that it would be better to give Hitler what he wanted so a war wouldn't start. This in a way led the Holocaust to be as it gave Hitler power from not only Germany, but the rest of the world. Hitler had been open with his ideas about the Jews as he revealed in Mein Kampf, the book he wrote before becoming elected into power. After he was elected, he got absolute power which gave him such control to affect his country and destroy opposition. It wasn't only Germany that had ever been antisemitist, but other countries too because Jews claim to be the "chosen people" and so are different than the rest of the world's population. After Hitler was started people couldn't really back out of it as they would be killed if they were pro-Jew and living in Germany. It was a time of the Aryan race. A good book to read if you want to read about the Holocaust in a more interesting way from the history books is "Night" by Elie Wiesel who actually experienced the Holocaust with his dad.
