Although many bleeding hearts would state that this question smacks of racism I often ask myself the same question. My occupation places me in direct contact with many African-Americans both male and female. And a general consesous of their intelligence and ability to communicate on a professional level seems lacking. My position as a financial sales person requires me to educate them of the products they are applying for and as a rule their only concern is price. Despite the fact that if they find themsleves in a position where they will need to utilize our services they will be both uninformed and short on protection. As a young black male, it angers me to suffer through their blatant denial of the strides accomplished by our ancestors and the need to move forward. Hopefully, the select few that I am fortunate to speak to, are only a small minority and do not represent my race as a whole. Please do not assume that we are unintelligent, because we are not. You are exposed to the under belly of our clan.
