Why are people so afraid of sharks?

Probably because of the fact that we understand so little about them. I mean, we have the facts and know some general info, but we don't understand them really. When we are in the ocean, we feel vulnerable and nervous because we are in their territory and we can't be sure where they are or what they are going to do.
