xerography uses electrostatic charges to form image and transfer it to paper. there is a mechanism in the photocopier that is supposed to remove the charge after the toner is fused to the paper and the charge is no longer needed. sometimes this wears out and no longer works well.

How are microprocessors used in photocopier?

The role of a microprocessor in a photocopier controls the display on the front of the machine. Also the microprocessor sends signal to the motor to move parts of the photocopier, so that the paper can come out.

How come the black powder in a photocopier only sticks to some of the paper?

In a photocopier, the black powder, or toner, only sticks to certain areas of the paper due to the electrostatic process involved in the copying. The photoconductive drum inside the copier is charged and then exposed to light, which creates a latent image of the document. The toner, which is also charged, is attracted to the areas of the drum that have been exposed to light (representing the image), while repelled by the areas that remain charged. When the paper passes through, the toner adheres only to the specific areas that correspond to the image, resulting in the final printed output.

What is the suitability of a photocopier?

A photocopier is suitable for making duplicate copies of documents quickly and efficiently. It is a cost-effective way to reproduce documents in an office setting. Additionally, modern photocopiers often come with advanced features such as scanning, printing, and faxing capabilities.

Why does static electricity sometimes produce a distinct smell?

Static electricity can sometimes produce a distinct smell because it can cause tiny particles in the air, like dust or skin cells, to be ionized or charged. When these charged particles come into contact with our noses, they can create a smell that is often described as sharp or metallic.

If you where giving the sum of 5million dollar by the company to double the money by this time next year what project can you come out with?

you could use a photocopier to make more

Do new car batteries come fully charged?

Not fully, but these days come more than half charged, yes.

Is scanner a photocopier also?

It can be. Some scanners come with software to 'imitate' a photocopier. You scan a document, then print it out using a separate printer. However it's possible to buy printer/scanners that do the job without the need for a computer - I have one made by Hewlett Packard that will photocopy without being connected to my computer.

When is static electricity come used?

Paint spraying cars: the paint particles are given a negative charge, and the car frame is given a positive charge, so the paint sprays out, and sicks to the car, and is attracted to all the hard- to reach areas Electrosatic precipitator; in coal fired power station theses are used to stop the dust particles reaching the atmosphere. Particles of ass pass through a charged grid, and becone charged. They then stick to plated either side of this grid, where they can be disposed of safely Photocopier; A charged drum is in the photocopier. Light is then shone through the paper, and whete ther is no print light hits the drum and it looses its charge. This leaves charge where there needs to be ink. Ink is the pulled onto the charged drum, and transfered onto paper Antistatic floors; to avoid static charges in hospital, the floors are made out of an antistatic material, so no charge can build up.
