They had to pay for what they did to every country they hurt. They had to pay big fines, and give up their military. The financial strains it caused hurt their economy. You would have a wheelbarrow full of coins to by a loaf of bread because the cost of the money became less. This happened because the government decided they could solve the problem by just printing more money....didn't work. So yes, there was a reason they were punished, and it was justified to all countries!!
