During his invasion of Russia, Napoleon lead his troops through the heavy snow. Not only this, but along the way he faced constant ambushes from the Russians. When he finally reached Moscow his troops were cold, feverish, and tired. They were not suited for this weather. Upon entering Moscow, the Russians set fire to their beloved city to force Napoleon out. He was forced to retreat back to France. However, at this time several of the German nations conspired against him and as he made his way through Prussia and Germany he was bombarded by their forces. He did successfully reach France but his Grand Armee was severely damaged.
