Why did evacuation in World War 2 start?

ww2 evacuation started because the English government was afraid that the German luftwaffe was going to bomb Englands main cities and all bomb factories wich would cause major destruction and many many many peoples lives would be lost so all of the children would be evacuated to the countryside or somewhere less likely to be bombed. while woman usually stayed at home to do the mens jobs.
