Jet is a species of Coal ( a black rock) that is valued as jewelry, not normally used as fuel. Jet, to most people is a type of airplane known for high speed- a Jet engine, Jet propulsion laboratory in California, etc. the title alludes to speed and action- some folks, who have never seen the magazine, assumed it was an aircraft magazine akin to air classics, aviation history, etc. so it is certainly a catchy title- and weekly publication pours on the Jet Fuel, so to speak!

One might be of collector interest as it has a nice shot of the Ronettes on the front cover and Rocking Ronettes rocket towards Fame! There is a more serious article about Nazis and race prejudice in Chicago, also on the cover. I have a photo of this cover, signed by none other than Ronnie Spector herself!
Micheal Jordan, Larry Bird, Clyde Drexler, Oscar Robinson, Shaquille Oneal, Charles Barkley, Wilt Chamberlin, Bill Walton, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Magic Johnson, Kenny "the jet' Smith, Reggie Miller. All these fools was yoked out when they were playing in the nba.
Some African-American magazines were started towards the end of World War 2. Few notable ones are Ebony, Negro Digest, and Jet.
John H. Johnson
John H. Johnson created the following magazines: Negro Digest (later named Black World), Jet, and Ebony
Ebony Magazine was founded by John H. Johnson and began publishing in 1945. Initially started as an all Black publication, Ebony now includes information on the Latina and Biracial communities and celebrities as well.
Yes. it is Johnson Publications.
If I am not mistaken, or it has not been taken over by a merger, the magazine popularily called JET ( not an aircraft magazine!) was and is published by Johnson Publications, of Chicago, also the parent publisher of Ebony.
Johnson Publications, not Sir Frank Whittle or Werner Von Braun!
First of all Jet magazine has nothing to do with aviation! it is NOT an aircraft magazine akin to Flying, Air Classics, Air Progress. It is a Black cultural magazine and is of small size. It is published weekly by Johnson Publications and should be available on most commercial newstands in big cities. Johnson Publications also produces Ebony. Good luck. Don't let the title fool you, it is not an aircraft magazine!

I am no expert but Jet magazine has a large circulation and old magazines are not worth much unless they are really old. If you offer it on e-bay somebody might pay a dollar or two for it.
