Karski described the conditions in the Warsaw Ghetto and told him about the extermination camps. He implored Roosevelt to do something about it, but according to Karski, Roosevelt merely kept on saying, 'Tell them that the guilty will be punished'. He did not respond to Karski's point that what was need was immediate help.
