When families all lived on the farm, everyone helped with the farm work. When people moved to the city, every person in the family did what they could to add to the family income.
Children worked in factories because the machines were powered by water wheels and if something on the machine broke they would not just stop all the machines for that one machine to be fixed. Because of this they needed people with small hands to reach in and fix the machines so the employers usually only hired women and children because men often had larger hands. Also children could be manipulated into accepting low wages. ( They would work for pennies a day)

A huge number of lower class workers were involved in the Industrial Revolution. Children often worked alongside adults in disturbingly poor and dangerous working conditions.

It was difficult for the poor during the Industrial Revolution because many jobs were lost to new technologies like farming equipment and machines. Later, as the people became more educated in the use of these machines, the poor were able to find work.
With their parents.
It was during the changeover to an Industrial economy. The population boomed, and many children were starving. And the new factories needed cheap labor. The children could work there, or die. They - and their parents - predominantly chose for them to work there. As the economy grew, the need to have the children as income earner decreased, and the capital accumulation of the factories allowed them to afford the more costly adult workers.

Victorian children were often forced to work due to widespread poverty and the economic demands of the Industrial Revolution. Families relied on the income generated by their children to survive, as many parents earned meager wages. Additionally, the demand for cheap labor in factories, mines, and other industries made it profitable for employers to hire children, who were seen as expendable and easier to control. This exploitation was exacerbated by a lack of legal protections and social reforms during that era.
Victorian children went to work because they needed money for their family. They were also forced to work because their parents and owners thought it was easier if children worked. Many factory owners employed children because they were cheaper to pay. The Industrial Revolution made jobs for children in coal mines, factories, chimney sweeps, and many more dangerous jobs!!Hope this helps!
There were no public schools in England.

if i was a worker in the factory of industrial revolution i would have lead an uneasy &hard life . by seeing the workers in the industrial revolution my life would be an miserable one & i had to work for 18 hrs per day as my family was very poor i was forced to work by my parents , working 18 hrs per day & not affording one meal per day would be very difficult for my family . thus i want to conclude with have mercy on those people who had to work very hard to get a meal i wish there would be no more revolution which exploited women & children
An industrial nuclear family refers to a family structure that emerged during the Industrial Revolution, characterized by a core group of parents and their children living independently, separate from extended family. This family model emphasizes a smaller household unit focused on economic self-sufficiency and mobility, often driven by the demands of industrial work. The industrial nuclear family contrasts with earlier agrarian family structures, which typically included extended relatives living together and sharing labor.
