Patriot Nathan Hale disguised himself as a teacher to spy on the British. He carried messages to the Colonial army but was eventually captured and hanged by the British.
Nathan Hale offered to go behind British lines and be a spy for the Continental (Colonial) Army. He dressed as a Dutch immigrent, however, he was captured by the British. Hale did not even have a trial, but was hanged the next day.
