Why did the atom bomb drop?

I'm not sure where abouts your asking, but the Americans dropped "fat man" and "little boy" to try and end the second world war. It was the first, and last use of an atomic bomb on actual human beings.

Point of disagreement between people. Some felt that Japan would have surrendered anyway, others believed that they would not, and invading Japan would result in about 1 million servicemen being killed. The President had to make a decision based on the best information that he had at that time.

Because it was released from an aircraft and as the bomb was heavier than air it fell under gravity.
