The National Assembly turned on Robespierre due to growing fears of his increasing authoritarianism and the Reign of Terror, which led to widespread executions and repression. Many members believed that his radical policies and the influence of the Committee of Public Safety threatened their own safety and the revolutionary ideals of liberty and democracy. Ultimately, his colleagues saw him as a liability that could destabilize the revolution, leading to his arrest and execution on July 28, 1794.

Changes in the rights of the Second Estate as a result of the National Assembly included the abolition of feudalism. This in turn took away the seigneurial rights of the Second Estate.

Robespierre died on the guillotine. The threat of the Assembly turning on the Committe was alwys real and although he tried to commit suicide, that escape also failed him.
It was a very difficult group to admire but very few criticised their efforts. They operated the Reign of Terror and were the custodians of the National Razor.
