Try wearing chain mail down to your knees and then mount a horse!
Skirts don't sit well on a horse rider, that's why women traditionally rode sidesaddle.
If you go to battle on horseback, better to wear a short chain mail vest with chain mail shorts.
We do not trust the Bayeux Tapestry because it was written from a Norman point of view, this means that the Normans could have exaggerated their victory or left out great things that the Saxons did. They did this to make themselves sound greater and more powerful than they actually were. As a result of this, it made viewers think of the Normans as alot better than the Saxons.
the Bayeux tapestry was biased because...It was written in William's perspectiveIt was produced by nuns who were not part of the Battle, and therefore they would have just based their knowledge by hearing it.The tapestry was build in France (Normandy) meaning that all the information used to make the tapestry was passed on by others and had probably been changed along the way.
The Bayeux Tapestry shows what most people think is what happened in the battle of hastings. There could be the problem that it might be biased. The Winners might have changed the story to make it sound like they had an even better victory than they did.

No. The Normans came from Northern France.

Yes, it is. It is the only taperstry made that shows the story of the Battle of Hastings. The Normans paid the Saxons, who were very well known for their taperstry, to create it so show of their great victory. As it was made by the Saxons historians do not know if it was changed slightly so it didn't make them look too weak. It it around 50cm high and 70m long. Hope this helps!
The language used on the tapestry is Old English, which is an early form of the English language spoken from around the 5th to the 11th century. It is written in the unique runic script, used by the Anglo-Saxons during this time period.
It was a battle between the Normans and the Anglo-Saxons. William the Conqueror ( Gion in French) led the Normans. Harold led the Anglo-Saxons. After all the Normans defeated the Anglo-Saxons.
The Normans
The Bayeux Tapestry is significant to history as it visually narrates the events leading up to the Norman Conquest of England in 1066, particularly the Battle of Hastings. It serves as a crucial primary source, offering insights into medieval life, warfare, and the political dynamics of the time. Additionally, its artistic style and craftsmanship reflect the cultural exchanges between the Anglo-Saxons and Normans, making it an invaluable artifact for understanding the period's history.

The Normans had been resting and eating and drinking, unlike the Saxons. Also, the Normans had stronger armour and rode on horseback. Hope this helped a bit.
