Because that's when it first came out.1997
It was called Just The Two Of Us.
But Was then changed to 97" Bonnie and Clyde when he became famous.
He wrote the song in 1997 when Hailie was 2. I think that he wrote that song after "Kim". Since in the beginning of it he says that Hailie is 2 and he kills Kim in that song and him and Hailie dump her body in '97 Bonnie & Clyde.
'97 Bonnie & Clyde is basically about him and Hailie dumping Kim's body. The '97 is the year he wrote the song. So it is when Hailie was two, I am not sure if he mentions that in the song. I think he wrote this song after he wrote the song "Kim". Because in Kim he is killing Kim and in '97 Bonnie & Clyde him and Hailie are dumping the body. (Hailie was 2 in both song's)(He mentions Hailie being 2 in the beginning of "Kim".
As far as I can find, there are two possibilities :Original Theme From Bonnie & Clyde, The Story of Bonnie & Clyde. But that is only a guess going by the names.
The song "Bonnie & Clyde" by Jay-Z, featuring Beyoncé, was released on October 3, 2002. It was included on Jay-Z's album "The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse." The track became popular for its romantic themes and showcased the chemistry between the two artists.

Bonnie means 'nice looking' or 'pleasing on the eye'. A Brae is an upward slope or the rise up to the top of a hill. Loch Lomond has 'bonnie banks' as in the song. A man could describe a woman he finds nice looking as 'bonnie'. Woman in the early 18th century found Bonnie Prince Charlie 'good to look at'. A new born child could be described as 'a bonnie bairn'. Bairn means child.
Eminem doesn't have a relationship with Bonnie. In the song '97 Bonnie and Clyde he is implying that he is Clyde and his daughter Hailie is Bonnie.
Well all I know is that Eminem has a song called 97 Bonnie and Clyde. so I'm not sure of the significance but i know the song is about Hailie. The song 97 Bonnie & Clyde was about Hailie(his daughter). He was happy because Eminem refers to him-self and Hailie as Bonnie & Clyde..Hints the tattoo he has of Hailie where is has the Bonnie & Clyde car and says Bonnie & Clyde.

Actually in 2003 nothing special happened with "Bonnie & Clyde". Maybe the questioner was after the song " '03 Bonnie & Clyde" performed by Jay-Z. But this song has been released in 2002!
He is speaking of his daughter, Hailie Jade Mathers, who was around six when she sang a duet with him in this song. Um no. You would be wrong, idiot. He says Clyde Mathers. And Hailie's name is Hailie Jade Scott. Get your facts straight. Uh, no again. The first answer was right, get YOUR facts straight. He was referring to 'Bonnie and Clyde' which is what he calls Hailie and himself. The next line says something about "Bonnie Jade" for Hailie. You didn't answer his question properly... He wasn't referring to Hailie when he said "Clyde Mathers". In the line, he was referring to himself. The "Clyde" part is from that movie "Bonnie and Clyde". He also made a song called "97 Bonnie and Clyde" in which he compared himself and Hailie, to Clyde and Bonnie. (From the movie.)

Bonnie and Clyde
we made you that's itAlso Gone Again and Backstabber from the Recovery Mixtape (improvement) in the song 97 bonnie and Clyde is also clean. great song.
Technically, the answer is unknown. Rick Davies, the writer of the song may have revealed it in an interview but I am not aware of any right now. The song could be symbolical of when he had a crush on his wife, a love song to his life, or just about someone else who had a crush on a woman named Bonnie. It could also be Clyde's view of Bonnie in "Bonnie and Clyde," but those are just possibilities. me
