It actually depends on how fast you choose move up or down but the normal walking speed for the average person is about 2 miles and an escalator moves 90-180 feet per minute and an average human walks about 196 feet per minute so it would only take a minute or so. Also you have to take into affect gravity which makes it harder to go upward which also makes you lift the mass of your body against gravity.

Because It takes longer to fly over Queensland Queenslanders are slow

Not all women last longer than men. And it depends what you mean by "last longer".
Justinian's rule lasted longer than Constantine.
Water takes longer to heat up and to cool down then it does for land.
Escalator usually takes us to different level of stairs. For Ex: 1st floor to 2nd floor or vice vera. But travelator is used for same level or little inclined. Mainly used for little longer distance than where escalator is used. For Ex: One building to another, in airports
Vector addition of velocities would be if something like you were on an escalator, which is going down, and you tried to run up the escalator. So if the escalator is moving down at a rate of 5 ft/sec and you run up at 13 ft/sec (relative to the escalator) then the net velocity relative to the Earth is 8 ft/sec up. So you just subtract, because the two vectors are in the same line. OK so really the direction is at an angle (rather than 'up'). The larger velocity direction will determine the net direction. If you were walking up the escalator at 3 ft/sec (relative to the escalator), then your net velocity is 2 ft/sec down.

If a person walks up the steps of a downward moving escalator at a constant speed, they will be able to ascend the escalator slower than if it were stationary. Their relative speed to the escalator will be decreased, allowing them to maintain a steady pace upwards.
Riding an escalator.
Trucks take longer to stop than passenger cars.
Answer"Genericide" or "genericization", meaning that the adjective brand name has merged with the noun or verb, as in, "take the escalator", or "xerox this for me", rather than "Escalator brand moving staircase", and "Xerox brand copiers and supplies". The process by which a trademark reaches "genericide" is caled "dilution". At some point, such a brand is no longer protectable, and their owners sometimes realize this too late.See, Wikipedia: Genericized trademark
because the earth spins anticlockwise looking down from north
No.
Escalator handrails move at a slightly faster speed than the treads to ensure that the handrail is always available for passengers when they reach the top or bottom. This ensures a seamless transition for passengers getting on or off the escalator.
It depends on how fast you are going. It will usually take much longer to walk than to drive (unless the traffic is horrible or the car breaks down).
