Yes Hernan Cortes is a hero for what he discovered, the Atzec Temples, will shown has a study of culture in life and what this culture di to survive.

The Catholic clergy who gained entrance to Mexico courtesy of Hernan Cortes destroyed much of that culture, and melted down its heathen gold idols to send to the Vatican, but the Aztec temples were too big to destroy. Whether Cortes is a hero or not depends on your point of view. To some people, Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin are heroes. Perhaps Cortes can be regarded as a hero because the odds were so heavily against him, and he succeeded where many others might have failed.

He brought European diseases like measles and smallpox which killed hundreds of thousands of Aztecs.He also forced them into slavary

i dont think he was a hero or a villian. i dont think he was a good man trying to really save anyone or some cause. he was after gold. but why people forget the the Aztecs were not much better. they went around enslaving other tribes using them in live sacrafice and killing so many people the blood soaked there ground and they couldnt grow food. and they had all the gold idols so i think they liked gold to. so i think it was to evils that destroyed eachother. and even tho the kind of Spain was catholic doesnt mean cortez was a good catholic and he didnt send all his gold back to rome. why would a evil person who wanted gold simply send it all away?

Cortes was a villain because he stole all the Aztecs gold and everything they had, he brought disgustin diseases to them and killed hundreds of thousands of them, he was a very greedy and selfish man, all he wanted was to get gold and gain power. He also lost the Giant Silver Aztec calendar in the lake that is now Mexico city. He killed many Native Americans of south and Central America, there is no doubt that he is a villain. He killed the native americans for food and gold.
