Is this a trick!? Anyway, look at how you asked this question... You used a device of some sort, a computing device that communicates through binary to other computing devices and peripherals. Computers help us communicate, process information, interpret data, perform difficult numerical tasks most mortals couldn't even begin to understand, let alone solve.

This is why they are important. Their importance leads the population to believe that they need them to operate in society, and so computers' popularity, commercial, industrial, and recreational indiscriminate, is based on demand, which again is due to their abilities to perform a ridiculous number of simple to seemingly impossible tasks.

Plus, humans are genetically programmed to adapt, and so psychologically, computers are popular as humans believe that subconsciously, this new computing technology helps us to survive. And what is more likely, from a social viewpoint, as humans are sociable creatures, if many use computers as an integral part of their lifestyle, it is natural surely for another to use the same technology for the same purpose?

Hope that helps <3
