Anything in history interests a historian. Events change lives, society, places, and people. A 20 year Ancient war could explain why there are differences within a place or among people. Often ancient armies took people as slaves and married women in the conquered lands. Languages change, customs change, religion change, and foods change. To study the war could tell a historian why and how. A good example of an invading people changing a society is the Vikings.
