The rulers of Chichen Itza were part of a complex political structure, often referred to as the "Itza" dynasty, which governed the city during its peak from the 10th to the 12th centuries. Notable rulers included K’uk’ulcan, who is associated with the introduction of the feathered serpent deity and significant architectural developments.
