Hitler boosted by previous successes opened more and more fronts, thus overstreching his army.He was a brutal dictator but not a war genius(tactically).
His fate was sealed when he attacked Russia(then The Soviet Union). After initial gains and having advanced up to about 30 km from the capital city Moscow, he was repelled and his army had to back off all the way until Berlin.
As russians were abot 300 meters from his bunker he is quoted as havig asked "are russians so close?". One adjutant answered " richtig Herr Führer( meaning that is right Chancellor). He ordered the adjutant to burn him after his death(he shot his freshly married wife and then himself dead).
Russians found the burnt body of Hitler and took the remains to an undisclosed location in order not to allow neonazis from creating a memorial place.
NB: Had he not attacked Russia, the war would last longer and probably he would have been not defeated.

The big three powers planned the final tactical assault on Germany
As Germany's empire expanded throughout the world, they ran into financial struggles which made their takeover more difficult.
Germany invaded neutral Belgium in 1914 as part of their military strategy to quickly defeat France by bypassing the heavily fortified French-German border. Germany believed that by invading Belgium, they could gain a tactical advantage and swiftly advance towards Paris.
In terms of the Attack on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese Navy (IJN) was able to achieve both tactical, operational, and strategic surprise. Several factors contributed to this. The Japanese strike force operated under strict radio silence, and sailed to its targets in Hawai'i through an area uncovered by American radar and reconnaissance. The Japanese also attacked on a Sunday, at a time when most of the American servicemen were either sleeping or just waking up, not expecting an attack. Lastly, the US also contributed to its own surprise at Pearl Harbor, both by underestimating Japanese capabilities and overestimating their own security. (They downplayed the results of a mock carrier attack on Pearl Harbor in 1938, and did not believe the Japanese were logistically capable of attacking with so great a force.)
Blitzkrieg was a combination of assault, deep penetration, and indirect approach. It is really more of an operational or tactical doctrine than it is a strategy.

Germany made no mistake; France fell in 45 days.

Napoleon conquered countries thanks his strategic Genius, the superior and innovative tactical methods of French Army and the ideas of French Revolution they spread throughout Europe. Hitler conquered countries thanks the superior, innovative tactical methods, strategic calculated risk and total war employed by the German Army and their Commanders. Hitler was not a military Genius like Napoleon. He had, now and then, some lucky insights , but generally his decisions as Supreme Commander led to the defeat of the Germany.
They were after oil and a strategic advantage.

WWI was closer to it than WW2. The R-J War removed Russia from the naval arms race in Europe allowing Germany to race ahead with only the UK as an opponent. All strategic & tactical planning could and did proceed without worrying about interference from Russia.
