She suffered a cruel death. In the year 415 AD, as she was returning home, she was dragged from her carriage by a Christian mob. She was taken to a church called Caesareum, stripped naked, and had her flesh torn apart by oyster shells. They took her mangled body to a place called Cinaron and burnt her.
