It was morally and ethically wrong. As well as horribly inhumane. After the "fall" of the Third Reich, the concentration camps were shut down. As a form of "punishment" Germans who lived in the surrounding cities and areas were forced to bare witnessed what their Feuer had done with the power the German people had bestowed to him. Almost every German was held accountable for the actions of Hitler. Guilty by association, so to speak.

What happens to all the prisoners who are left behind when the camp is evacuated?

When a camp is evacuated, prisoners who are left behind often face dire circumstances. Many may be abandoned due to their inability to move or perceived lack of value, leading to starvation, exposure, or execution by guards. In some cases, they may be liberated by advancing Allied forces, but many are left to suffer alone in the remnants of the camp. Ultimately, the fate of those left behind often reflects the tragic and chaotic nature of the war's end.

Does Elie wiesel remain in the hospital while the camp is being evacuated?

Elie and his father must make a decision whether to go on the death march or stay in the infirmary at the camp. Elie decides that the camp will probably be bombed by the Nazis after it's evacuation and the sick peopel in the infirmary will be killed. He believes this because the Nazis have no use for sick people. Elie and his father go on the death march, which proves to be a bad choice because two days after the camp was evacuated and Elie and his father went on the march, people in the infirmary were freed. Had Elie and his father stayed in the infirmary, they would have been freed from the reign of the Nazis and his father would have survived the Holocaust.
