The Collusus of Rhodes is one of he 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. The true reason for its construction is pretty obscure, many people believe it was to honor the city after a great military victory and Golden Age.

The Collosus of Rhodes was built in Rhodes, Greece and honors one of the Greek Gods. In Greece there were many different gods, often for the same power, for example, in Athens the God of the Sun was Apollo, but in Rhodes and the other islands the God of the Sun was Helios. The Statue in Rhodes was of Helios the Sun God, The bronze statue was said to have fingers the size of a man, and on top of his head was a crown of sun rays each more the 15 people's length long.
