Spanish conquistadors were able to control and defeat powerful Native American empires primarily due to their advanced military technology, including firearms, steel weapons, and cavalry, which gave them a significant advantage in battle. Additionally, they exploited existing rivalries among indigenous groups, forming alliances with some tribes against others. The spread of diseases brought by Europeans, such as smallpox, decimated native populations, further weakening their ability to resist conquest. Finally, the conquistadors' determination and strategic leadership played crucial roles in their successes.

Spanish conquistadors played a crucial role in establishing colonies in North and South America by leading expeditions that conquered indigenous civilizations and claiming vast territories for Spain. Figures like Hernán Cortés and Francisco Pizarro overthrew powerful empires such as the Aztecs and Incas, facilitating Spanish control over large regions. They sought wealth, land, and resources, establishing settlements that became the foundation for Spain's colonial empire. Their actions significantly impacted indigenous populations through warfare, disease, and cultural transformation.

Spanish explorers in the New World did more than explore. Their mission as "conquistadors" were to battle & defeat Native Americans in order to control large parts of North & South America. The "conquistadors" were able to steal silver and gold and send these precious metals back to Spain. Two famous conquistadors were Cortes and Pizarro.

Both Pizarro and Cortes were Spanish conquistadors who led successful expeditions in the Americas. They conquered the Aztec Empire under Cortes and the Inca Empire under Pizarro, bringing vast territories under Spanish control. Their conquests resulted in the downfall of powerful indigenous empires and the establishment of Spanish colonial rule in the Americas.

The Spanish explorers were known as Conquistadors which meant they tried to conquer lands they were interested in to expand their country's global power and control. When they saw all of the gold that American civilizations had, they wanted the gold for themselves and their country because of its value. They though that the only way to have the gold for themselves was kill off the American civilizations.
