The economic crunch was a basal factor in the French Revolution as it rang a bell to announce the demise of the monarchy and the beginning of new system which would halt France plunging further into financial chaos. Indeed, there was a need for a reality check as resentment of royal absolutism and the power of the catholic church was by far too extreme to put up with any longer as high unemployment, famine, malnutrition and the living condition of many French nationals deteriorated. Certainly, it must be said that without the support of the people of France the revolutionary movement would have never been taken place since their support was the mainstay of the revolution.
