Easier and cheaper to just kill'em.
Soap, armor, and buttons all were improved in quality or functionality during the Middle Ages. So were a few dozen other things. There is a link to a related question below that gives more details.
Nearly all the histories I have read say that the Renaissance began before the Middle Ages ended, so there was some overlap. I think possibly all of them would have put 1454 into the Renaissance. The dates I have seen for the end of the Middle Ages range from 1400 to 1517. Most of them have been 1453, but a few have been 1492 or 1400. So some, but possibly not most, historians would put 1454 in the Middle Ages.

The printing press was developed by Johannes Gutenberg around the year 1440. Many consider the middle ages to have lasted until the year 1500, so yes, the printing press was invented during the late middle ages. If you were meaning to ask if printing was available during the middles, for the great majority of the medieval period it was not available, coming in only at the end and then initially in limited distribution.
That's only symbolism; it wasn't that the Dark Ages lacked light physically, we merely lacked information about this period in time. At that time it was thought to be without documented history, with very few obvious archaeological finds, so people coined it the "Dark Ages" due to how little was known on it. However, with better understanding of the archaeology and the discovery of many written accounts from the period, new light has been cast on the "darkness" and we now know more and no longer use the term "Dark Ages".
Guerilla warfare tactics against English immigrants, villages, towns and their collaborators, see such as history of Austrian invasions of Switzerland or the Penisular War
A few years ago polo middles were actually sold in the UK. But they have long since disappeared from supermarket shelves. I believe polo middles are now added back into the "polo making process" at an early stage of production, so that eventually they do become the outer ring of a polo.
In the Middle Ages, there were very few prisons, and those that existed were used mostly to hold people waiting for trial or political prisoners. In fact there were so few prisons that some English counties had none at all. Occasionally, children were imprisoned, usually for political reasons. For example, the English King Edward V, who was twelve years old, was imprisoned in the Tower of London along with his brother, Richard, by their uncle. The original excuse for this was that they were put there for their own protection, but as soon as the uncle consolidated his power, he made himself king after he apparently had both of the children murdered. This king, Richard III, did not last long, and was himself soon killed in a battle.

It's so many prisons to account for , I am sure these programs are working in some. However you will have some prisons that need improvement. To make any program work successfully, you need good supervisors and workers.
There are several. Alderson, West Virginia is one of the best known. Where are all womens federal prisons located. Also...there is a women's federal prison in Danbury, Ct. The Federal Bureau of Prisons website has information on all women's prisons.

Prisons as we understand them - as a place of reform - are a modern invention. Before the 19th Century idea of a penitentiary, prisons were places of detention where people were held until they were punished - execution, flagellation, sale as slaves, etc, or released sometimes if found not guilty. So yes, there were prisons cells, but not penitentiaries.
becuse they were so famous
