The long answer: when those products are once again manufactured here in the USA. The short answer: probably never! Don't blame the Chinese "communists". Years ago the American capitalist bean counters transferred most of their manufacturing operations overseas. In this way millions of US citizens lost their jobs. Yes I agree that most Chinese products are poor quality JUNK. Unfortunately for many common items, clothing, shoes, household appliances, etc. there is NO alternative. Today it is no easy task to find an electric mixer or toaster oven made in Japan, to say nothing of the United States. When they first started to be sold in this country, perhaps 20-25 years ago, Chinese products were cheap. Yes they were JUNK, everybody could see that, but they tempted the prospective buyer with their low cost. I remember $1.99 for a pair of leather work gloves. Today US factory workers are mostly unemployed and the prices of those same rubbishy Chinese-made products have escalated so that they are now even more expensive than the ones formerly of US make. Needless to say, Chinese products would not have their current stranglehold on the American marketplace if they had not been wholeheartedly embraced by the American consumer. Yes, that's YOU my friends. You put yourselves and your neighbors out of work to save a few cents. Now what are YOU going to do about it?
