Seppuku - a ritual for killing yourself. (an answer ten years in the making)
Bushido is the real name for Bushido. It was the code of conduct for Samurai similar to the precepts of Knighthood for European Knights.
Mostly Samurais in training practiced calligraphy, practiced the rituals of tea ceremonies, wrote poetry (usually haikus), practiced swordsmanship and archery, and occassionally had lessons on seppuku and Bushido.
bushido it's kind of like the chivalry the knights of mid evil europe had. They had rules of honor like seppuku whee they killed themselves if they did something realy dishonerable also they had to remain loyal and stuff like that ninga didn't have this but there were obviously ways of controlling them
Seppuku or beheading. For those that actually followed it.
yes it is actually seen as a great honor especially in the eyes of samurai. seppuku, when someone stabs themself in the stomach, is actually part of bushido, the samurai code of honor, i think.
Seppuku Paradigm was created in 2005.

When one breaks the rules of Bushido, the code of conduct followed by samurai in feudal Japan, it typically results in a loss of honor, respect, and status. Violating the principles of loyalty, courage, and integrity can lead to social ostracism and disgrace, not just for the individual but potentially for their family as well. In extreme cases, such transgressions could necessitate ritual suicide (seppuku) to restore honor. Ultimately, breaking Bushido undermines the very foundation of the samurai's identity and purpose.
Harakiri is a less respectful name for Seppuku
'Seppuku' refers to a form of ritual suicide.
it is a sanurai's ritual
Bushido, the traditional code of the samurai, emphasizes virtues such as loyalty, honor, and discipline, fostering a strong sense of duty and community among its followers. However, its rigid adherence to honor can lead to extreme actions, such as ritual suicide (seppuku) in the face of failure or dishonor, which may not align with modern ethical standards. While it promotes personal integrity and resilience, the code can also encourage violence and conflict, as the emphasis on martial prowess may overshadow diplomacy and compromise. Balancing these aspects remains a challenge in contemporary interpretations of bushido.
