It was changed
The innovations and reforms that occurred during the Renaissance changed life in Europe in many ways. Perhaps the most significant change was the general shift in focus from otherworldly to this-worldly perspectives in the arts, science, and much more besides: in short, Europeans became more humanistic.
The Crusaders contributed to the increase of trade by demanding more of the goods found in Asia. This increased demand, in turn, led to yet more trade with the Muslim world. Using what they had learned, such as navigation techniques, Europeans then sought trade with civilizations on other continents. Contacts with Muslim scholars and their preserved greek and roman texts brought the Europeans a wealth of knowledge about medicine, art and government, much of which contributed to the change and learning during the Renaissance.
The Europeans were inspired by the Greco-Roman times, so they created the Renaissance that helped to spread sophisticated culture throughout Europe. However, Northern Europe wasn't affected by the Renaissance until later on, when they got into Secularism (the principle that possessions are first to religion).
Before, they were solely concentrated on their salvation. During the renaissance, they focused more on worldly things and the human experience rather than salvation.
The king during the Carolingian Renaissance was called Charlemagne.
