Conquest means to take over something, usually by force through war or other means. Conquest refers to something you had wanted but didn't have and once you accomplish getting it, it is a conquest of yours.
The Roman empire once stretched over three continents.
An empire is a great nation, so to speak, and it controls itself. Italy is the country that once WAS the roman empire, as the capitol of the empire lies in there, if that is what you meant.

1) There was no Russia at times of Mongol Empire. It was called Kiev Russ. 2) Former Kiev Russ teritories are now parts of Belaruss, Russia and Ukraine. Now mongolian occupation times are called "Igo" or "Orda". If you're intrested in my imho: Actually those times are not actually occupation, rather times of empire formation (Look at map of former Mongol empire and modern Russia, nothing similar?). We all will be united once again! In even more large empire. As like empire was reborn as Russian Empire. Just only took away from us your western agents (our politics).
The decline and fall of the Mongol Empire can be attributed to several factors, including internal divisions and power struggles among its various khanates, which fragmented the once-unified empire. Additionally, overexpansion strained resources and communication, making it difficult to manage vast territories. Economic challenges, such as reliance on tribute and trade disruptions, further weakened the empire, while the rise of powerful neighboring states ultimately led to its disintegration.
Please be more specific as to the conquest. The Romans conquered to acquire most of their empire. However it was not done all at once. Each section of expansion had its own timeline.
After the death of Genghis Khan in 1227, the Mongol Empire was divided among his heirs into four main khanates: the Yuan Dynasty in China, the Golden Horde in Russia, the Ilkhanate in Persia, and the Chagatai Khanate in Central Asia. While the empire initially continued to expand under his successors, internal divisions, succession disputes, and cultural differences eventually led to fragmentation. By the 14th century, the once-unified empire had disintegrated into independent states, each pursuing its own interests. This decline was further exacerbated by external pressures and the rise of local powers.

According to the Bible, King David created a great empire by conquest, rather than by trade. Of course every prosperous empire will trade, and the Bible suggests this. However, archaeologists say there was no great empire at the time attributed to David. They find evidence of scattered villages and two or three small cities, but nothing that suggests power or great prosperity. Even the conquest of Meggido, once assumed to have taken place in the time of David because this matched to biblical account, has been redated to the ninth century BCE.
Yes, parts of modern-day Syria were once part of the Persian Empire, particularly during the Achaemenid period (c. 550-330 BCE). The region was incorporated into the empire following its conquest by Cyrus the Great. Throughout history, Syria has been influenced by various empires, including the Persian Empire, but it was not exclusively Persian.
