Just about all styles that I can think of require wet paint. If you are asking about painting directly into wet plaster, it is the art of the fresco.
While the source of inspiration for both renaissance and neoclassical is the same, the difference with respect to decorative art would be the manner in which it is expressed. Renaissance decorative art uses bold, dense, and flowing style elements. The use of allover patterning with exuberant expression is distinctly different from neoclassical interpretation of the same ancient themes. Neoclassical decorative art is much more restrained and with the exception of fully developed perspective, is very close in compositional scale to the style elements employed in ancient Greece and Rome. The neoclassical style was far more regal and constrained than the lavish renaissance style.
Middle Age art changed over time. In the early Middle Age artist weremonks and priests who were based in monasteries. but the later Middle Ages saw the start of Gothic Art and the advances of art. They broke away from the influences of the Byzantium art style and towards more realism that lead to the Renaissance art style. The famous names of the Middle Ages included men like Donatello, Diotto, Alberti, Cimabue, Brunelleschi, Angelico, and Ghiberti. Lorenzo Ghiberti was a famous sculptor and painter. He was founder of the Renaissance Donatello worked with statuary work. Giotto di Bondone was an architect, sculptor, and painter of the early Renaissance He pioneered new ideas of naturalism and created a sense of pictorial space. Leon Battista Alberti developed architectural principals were founded on the importance of painting as a base for architecture. Cimabue was the last great painter who worked in the Byzantine tradition and founded the movement towards greater realism. Filippo Brunelleschi was an artist, sculptor, and architect. He developed a technique forming the basis of Renaissance architecture and also developed the use of perspective. He built the dome of the church in Florence. Fra Angelico was the most famous artist of the Middle Ages. He did religious art.
