He was an English physician who made contributions in anatomy and physiology. He was the first to describe completely and in detail the systematic circulation and properties of blood being pumped to the brain and body by the heart. He showed that arteries and veins form a complete circuit.
William Harvey is famous for his groundbreaking discovery of the circulation of blood in the human body. In the early 17th century, he demonstrated that blood circulates through the heart and arteries, challenging the prevailing Galenic theories of the time. His work laid the foundation for modern physiology and medicine, revolutionizing the understanding of the cardiovascular system. Harvey's meticulous experiments and observations made him a pivotal figure in the history of science.

William Harvey (1578 - 1657) was an English physician who first described accurately how blood was pumped around the body by the heart. In 1618, he became physician to James I and to James' son Charles when he became king. Both James and Charles took a close interest in and encouraged Harvey's research.

Doctors in the Middle Ages had no real medical knowledge whatsoever. They needed a degree in Theology to practice, and knew a little of ancient Greek medicine, but they believed in (and treated accordingly) demons and miasmas as the cause of disease. The main "treatment" for just about everything was bloodletting to bleed out the demons. Obviously, many patients died from lack of blood making their real conditions worse. Doctors today base their practices on science instead of religion and superstition, and have the accumulated knowledge of all the past studies in medicine to look to for answers.

William Harvey was a famous English Physician. He is credited with explaining the circulation of blood. He worked at St. Bartholomew's Hospital in London and died in London in 1657.
William Harvey's discovery was limited because:•Doctors could not make blood transfusions until they discovered blood groups in 1901. •Many thought that his idea was mad. •Some Doctors ignored his theory.

William Harvey, an English physician, is credited with the discovery of the blood circulatory system in the early 17th century. Harvey's work demonstrated that blood circulated throughout the body in a closed system, propelled by the heart. His findings revolutionized the understanding of human physiology.

Andreas Vesalius, a Belgian physician, is credited with the discovery and description of the systemic circulation of blood through arteries and veins in the 16th century.
William Harvey, an English physician, is credited with describing the circulation of blood to and from the heart in his publication "De Motu Cordis" in 1628. He demonstrated how blood is pumped around the body by the heart and explained the function of the heart as a muscular pump.
