China officially abolished slavery in 1910, during the late Qing Dynasty, although the practice had been declining prior to this. The 1910 Law on the Abolition of Slavery aimed to eradicate the institution and improve social conditions. However, remnants of forced labor and human trafficking continued to exist in various forms for years after the official abolition.
Slavery has been going on forever, and in some places in Africa and Asia, still is. Slavery in the United States ended in 1865 with the defeat of the Confederacy in the Civil War.
The aboriginal people practised slavery for perhaps thousands of years before the arrival of Europeans.

Slavery began with the moment man began on earth and continues to today. Millions are still in slavery in places all over the world ( including the United States, even though it is illegal). People have been taken as slaves as a part of war through the centuries, sold/bought to do other men's work, and enslaved to work the sex industry.
