They borrowed Stoicism
.
The ideas that were borrowed from the Greeks to rome was their religion the all believed in many gods and goddesses and then went on to only believe in one god or goddess, the also took their arts, literature, and language from the Greeks. For example many of the roman myths and legends are taken from the Greeks, eg, the stand of the 300 Fabii (Italian) shows resemblance to the stand of the 300 Spartans (Greece) this is mostly due to the Historian Livy replacing blanks in his history.Art is a fairly good example. Greek statues like the Diskobolos is originally bronze but we only know about it from the Roman marble copy. They stole Greek teachers to teach their roman kids, they 'borrowed' the greek ideas on philosophy... The Roman built the aquaducts. Big deal. If the Greeks had been left alone, I'm sure they could've done a tad better.
The Romans based their Gods on Greek counterparts. However, the Greeks have been cited as 'borrowing' a fair amount of their religion from the Ancient Egyptians, a civilization that in time, the Greeks overpowered.
The Romans borrowed some ideas from the Greeks because they found them useful. This adaptability and absorption of other cultures was one of the reasons that the Roman civilization lasted as long as it did.
