Heller's test is used to test the presence of proteins in urine.
Principle: concentrated acids remove the hydration shell around the protein molecules and help in precipitation.
Procedure: take 3ml of conc nitric acid(HNO3). incline the tube and add 3ml of urine so as to form 2 distinct layers.
If urine contains proteins, a white zone of precipitated protein will appear at the junction of two liquids.
