This journey was part of the transatlantic slave trade and involved inhumane conditions, where many enslaved individuals suffered from overcrowding, disease, and high mortality rates during the crossing. The Middle Passage was a key component of the triangular trade system that linked Europe, Africa, and the Americas.
North Africa already had the animals which existed in southern Europe. The process was the other way round. The Romans imported animals form north Africa and beyond: the Barbary lions and the Atlas bears of north Africa, elephants, rhinos and giraffes form deeper in Africa.
Well during the English colonial period during the thirteen colonies there was the Triangular trade routes which would have west indies selling molasses to the colonies then the molasses would be made into rum then the rum would be sold to Africa forslaves sorum and slaves

There are no more colonies in Africa. The last one (Southern Rhodesia) became independent from the United Kingdom in 1980. The nation that had the largest colonies in terms of land mass was France.
