In the 1600s, notable Dutch explorers included Henry Hudson, who explored parts of North America and is best known for the Hudson River, which bears his name. Abel Tasman is another prominent figure, recognized for his voyages to New Zealand and Tasmania, making significant contributions to the mapping of the region.
