Those who fought during the crusades were: the Seljuk Turks, the European Christians, and the Muslims.
During the Crusades, Christians primarily fought against Muslim forces in the Holy Land, particularly those led by leaders such as Saladin. Additionally, they encountered various other groups, including local Christian sects and Byzantine Christians, who had differing political and religious interests. The conflicts were marked by a series of military campaigns aimed at reclaiming Jerusalem and other territories considered sacred by Christians.
Pope Urban II is credited with encouraging Christians to join the Crusades and promising them forgiveness of sins. During the Council of Clermont in 1095, he called for a military expedition to the Holy Land and offered spiritual rewards, including indulgences, to those who participated in the crusade. This promise was a significant motivator for many to take up arms in the name of their faith.

Very few women ever went on the Crusades, those that did were usually present as cheap prostitutes, cooks, or weavers to mend shredded cloth, also they were medics. Women that were captured in the Crusades were often raped so many killed themselves before capture.

The pope promised remission of sins to all those who fought in the crusade. In other words he promised all those who fought would be spiritually cleansed all of their sins, regardless of what they did in later life. Essentially a one way ticket to heaven.
Those are the only two which he was a leader in. He probably fought in some before, but didn't make himself well known.

I don't think it "proves" anything; the two things are unrelated. And I don't see anything about the Crusades which would justify including it under the category "holy themes" - those were basically wars fought for power.
