the pants come formm my mom In the 1700's women made the clothes for their family's. Sometimes when men went out to work in fields and later on in their offices, it would be raining and wet and muddy outside. So, the women folded the pant legs underneath and sewed them so that the bottom of their pants wouldn't get soaked and/or dirty.
