King Richard I of England's main opponent in the Third Crusade was Saladin, the Muslim leader and Sultan of Egypt and Syria. It is said that Robin Loxley went with king Richards to fight in the third crusade but returned from service. This could mean that the third crusade went on for many years after robin came home and wrought havoc or he returned with king Richard, at which time the lionheart went off to lead another crusade and robin stayed, the facts aren't clear mate.
