Communist Party of Canada - Ontario - was created in 1940.
He reorganized the Liberal Party of Canada in 1857.
In 2010, Ontario's provincial opposition party was the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. Their leader at the time was, and still is (as of 2012), Tim Hudak (who assumed leadership of the party on July 1, 2009.)
The political parties in Canada do not have a symbol. They do however have colours and the Liberal party's is red.

Technically speaking, the Government of Ontario is the people of Ontario. They vote in (and out) politicians. The current ruling party is the Liberal Party, headed by Dalton McGuinty. However, he is in a minority position so he needs to negotiate with the other two parties (NDP and Conservative) to get legislation passed.
The premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, belongs to the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario.
The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario is deemed to have no party.
Green Party of Ontario was created in 1983.
