Other than the obvious (such as electric light cords being chewed on, glass ornaments, tinsel being eaten, etc) Christmas trees themselves are not hazardous to dogs, or pets in general. As long as they don't knock the tree down on themselves or snack on any decorations, you should be fine. However other holiday plants can be VERY toxic, even poisonous, to pets. These include mistletoe, poinsettia and holly berries. Be extra careful to keep these items out of reach and away from a curious pet that might want to have a nibble.
