Easter Island
Easter Island
The Moai could be thousands of years older than commonly thought as some of them are buried in 20 feet of sediment which would take thousands of years to build up. (As stated by Dr Robert Schoch on the History channel show Ancient Aliens)
Galapagos Islands-where Charles Darwin started thinking about evolution; Easter island-has large statues thought to be between 500 and a 1000 years old; Strait of Magellan-before the Panama Canal, the easiest route between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans; Brazilian Coast-an important shipping location
The Easter Island head statues (moai) are carved from volcanic rock from Rano Raraku. These rocks include trachyte, red scoria, and basalt (all of these are igneous rocks because they came from a volcano). The eyes are made of black and white obsidian rocks.
Most Greek statues are broken because they are thousands of years old
The Moai are otherwise known as the stone carvings on Easter Island. It is thought that these carvings were made between the years 1250 and 1500.
The largest statues believed to be between 500 and 1000 years old are the Moai of Easter Island, also known as Rapa Nui. These monolithic human figures were carved by the Rapa Nui people between 1400 and 1650 AD, though some estimates suggest the tradition may have started earlier. The Moai, made primarily from volcanic tuff, can weigh up to 82 tons and stand up to 33 feet tall. They serve as ancestral representations and have significant cultural and historical importance to the island's inhabitants.

Jupiter has a large red spot that is thought to be a massive storm system, rather than a hurricane. This storm has been raging for hundreds of years and is monitored closely by astronomers.
Thought to have been between 150,000 and 200,000 years ago
No one knows for sure but it is thought that they live for somewhere between 20 to 40 years.
