Personally, i think that you tell them that Santa is real then when you think they are old enough like 7 or something then tell them that we say he isn't real to keep him away . They aren't likely to scream about it that he isn't real. Or you could joke about it like saying yeah he is real and how do you think he goes to every house in one night.
