You don't ask on the invitation- that's straight tacky
Money is actually a better way for all those concerned. It is easier for the guests to give money than to go through pages of registered gifts at different stores and it also gives the Bride/Groom to be the money to buy the things they need or save it towards their honeymoon or a home.
You can put .... 'In lieu of gifts a money tree will be set up at the reception entrance.' Be sure you have someone there looking after the money tree and also being sure the guests put their envelopes with money on the tree while they sign in on the Wedding Registration book.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When asking for money you should go to a craft store and buy small colored envelopes (your choice of color) and slip it into each invitation along with the Invitation for RSVP (seeing which guests are coming and how many.) This is a great way for people giving money to give it without being embarrassed as not all people can afford a lot of money. You won't know who gave you what unless it is a family member and they will generally give it to you in private.
A money tree can be made out of anything, but resembles a tree. At any craft store one can get fancy little clothes pegs to attach the gift envelope onto the tree. It is important to know that some people may still give you a gift so have your Maid of Honor be sure to put what gifts certain people gave on the wedding card when you are opening your gifts
Congratulations!
Note: you can also find some nice wording in poems available on the related link.
You should never ask for money on a wedding invitation. Instead, you should register for a few items as some people would only buy gifts. You could say we have everything we need but you risk not receiving a gift at all.
no
An uninvited wedding wedding guest is someone who did not receive an invitation to the wedding. Even if that guest feels they should have been invited they should not attend unless they received the wedding invitation. If your boyfriend or girlfriend was invited to the wedding they can invite you as their guest as all wedding invitations ask if that person who received the wedding invitation is bringing a guest.
Christian Wedding Invitation
If you received an invitation to the wedding then you do not need to bring the invitation to prove you were invited. If you never received an invitation to the wedding then it is not etiquette to attend the wedding and you would be considered crashing the wedding.
Monetary gifts are welcome!
All Invitation vendors have RSVP cards that go along with your Wedding Invitations. You will send it out to all your guests with a self addressed envelope. That way you are sure to get your response's from your guests.
Is it ok to ask kids to bring money for dinner at a birthday party
You can ask if the couple has a favorite charity and make a contribution to it in their name.
yes! it is common for wedding couples to ask instead of gifts. In this day and age there are 1. many people who are living together already and have everything they need. 2. people are getting married later in life . 3. some it is their second wedding. so gifts are not needed and money is better.
* Yes, this would be acceptable in today's etiquette and a relief for many guests as it will be easier on them. In your wedding invitation put a money card inside for the convenience of your guests.
