cash, check or charge... If you mean in what increments, its like anyone else you hire for a service. Usually a 1/3 or deposit upfront, then a 1/3 as you see the progress they are making that they promised and the last 1/3 when they are finished with the service they are providing. Be sure to get in black and white what is expected of them and how the monies are to be doled out. If you add anything to the original agreement then only the amount you pay out partially changes, unless something at the last minute has to be paid in full, then that money comes from you and you get the name and number of the person and get a receipt, paid in full... Good luck.

The wedding planner is the one that should tell you how many times you need to see him or her. It generally takes three meetings. Going the first time to talk over prices and deciding what you want the wedding planner to do; another meeting to go over everything the wedding planner has been asked to do and then a third time to go over it just to be sure everything is done by the wedding planner that you want done and to pay the bill.

What is your question? Is it1. If a professional wedding planner is getting married, do they pay for their own wedding?OR is your question2. Do professional wedding planners pay for their clients weddings? If your question is #1 then of course they pay for their weddings, planners are people just like anyone else; who have to pay for goods and services but being a planner they should have a good relationship with many vendors(photographers, stationers, bakers, florists, bands) and they will probably work out a discount with these vendors because they are friends and have professional relationships w/each other. If your question is #2 then the answer is No! why would a complete stranger pay for someone else's wedding? Wedding planners/coordinators are running a business, not a charity. A wedding planner plans, implements and coordinates all wedding related efforts for their clients, some even own event design companies that take care of florals, lighting, rentals and all decor as well as wedding planning but wedding planners get paid for planning weddings.
Answer A wedding planner is just another way of spending money for nothing. I'd say good bye to the wedding planner and get on with your wedding.
