How does Santa go back up the chimney to continue his journey of delivering gifts?

In the poem, "Twas the Night Before Christmas" attributed to Clement Clarke Moore, Santa goes up the chimney to his sleigh and reindeer. He does this by, "laying his finger aside of his nose, and giving a nod, up the chimney he rose."

after he drinks and eats his treats which give him more energy, he says the magic word that lifts him up in a flash to go up the chimney, and if there isn't one he just vanishes through the either the front or back door, it is done so fast , no one can ever see it unless you are an elf.
