The special porridge eaten at Christmas Eve dinner in some cultures, particularly in Scandinavian traditions, is called "risgrynsgröt" or rice porridge. It is typically made from rice, milk, and sugar, and often served with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a pat of butter. In some traditions, a whole almond is hidden in the porridge, and the person who finds it is said to have good luck in the coming year.
